Action/war drama based on the best-selling book detailing a near-disastrous mission in Somalia on October 3, 1993 where nearly 100 U.S. Army Rangers, commanded by Capt. Mike Steele, were dropped by helicopter deep into the capital city of Mogadishu to capture two top lieutenants of a Somali warlord which lead to a large and drawn-out firefight between the Rangers and hundreds of Somali gunmen which led to the destruction of two U.S. Black Hawk helicopters in Mogadishu, and the heroic efforts by various Rangers to get to them, centering on Sgt. Eversmann, commanding one Ranger unit named Chalk Four, leading Rangers to the first black hawk crash site, to Warrant Officer Durant who was only survivor of the second black hawk crash site and whom was captured, to Col. McKnight who leads a rescue convoy for the Rangers only to get lost within the hostile city, to Sgt. Sanderson desperately trying to get to the first crash site, to Staff Sgt. Yurek who leads two fellow Rangers, Nelson and Twombly to meet with up their squad, Chalk Four, at the first crash site, to many others involved who where either killed or survived.

As war movies go, I must say that I am not really a fan, but I like to see a good movie, and that's what this. Based on real events, this DVD movie Black Hawk Down and his brilliant cast offers suspense, drama and action. The entire DVD film Black Hawk Down seems to be realistic in its description of the war, just as it is Saving Private Ryan. This is a well-made film, which shows that errors occur in war, and nobody can hide from the terrible impact of these errors. An emotional, well-made DVD film Black Hawk Down 8 / 10

One of the best movies I've ever seen. We use extreme. I spent a couple hours watching the deluxe edition (3 DVDs). I really can not recommend one to get a lot of extra material on both discs more, everything from a documentary from 1993 on the situation of the true story that happened.

Slick and sincere on the basis of the consolidated sales, this movie: Black Hawk Down follows the nonfiction book closely. The book itself was one of the best ever written accounts of battle, but ultimately, it is a real test, with much information, not a dramatic story. As this story in a semi-documentary gave us a lot of interesting pictures on the screen, but not necessarily the background detail. However, this account of the U.S. Army firefight with Somali militia is worth seeing. A major problem with this type of approach of the Black Hawk Down War film is a war can never be a good final. Notice how the majority of war films are about the Second World War: everybody knows or should know, that the conflict ended in complete and absolute victory of the defeat of the enemy. But that war was an anomaly in history, most wars have darker intentions and less decisive outcomes. I liked this film, but did not have the same feeling of pride in the end, as someone who could be seen "the longest day." But expects. In any case, I recommend this Black Hawk Down movie for many reasons, including the production values are huge, which are much better than other films of war around the same period.
