Maybe it's because the Thunderheart film remains in the shadow of "Dances With Wolves" - or perhaps because it is not sold well - but it is beyond me and all I know who have seen this DivX Movie Thunderheart why not do better in theaters . All the pieces are there: great actors (and acting), great characters, excellent photography, incredible, exciting, and simply wonderful history, mystery, suspense, comedy. I did not want to end this movie! A Thunderheart Western movie beloved by many. Rent now.
I had to go for it with a 9, because it is a bit long and dream, the more the viewer must pay close attention to follow it. The first time I saw him to 17 years, not really, but I was impressed by his honest representation of the reservation. Now that you've been warned, I recommend it. I had immediate respect for the Indians who had always considered useless. We can not expect to succeed in a world that does not create, or in particular wish to participate in. The level of intelligence of the Indian people is admirable, complementary, and credible. I will see again tomorrow. Val Kilmer is excellent as usual, and Graham Greene should have received an Oscar, but sometimes there are not enough for everyone. The Thunderheart movie is just amazing. If you like movies that meet halfway and take the energy to look, you are impressed. If you liked Titanic, do not bother.
I remember seeing this a few years ago, stumbling on it by chance in one of the most obscure TV channels. Since he has been one of my favorite movies. Like others here are not really why we get a low score. All actors make more beautiful and more of the characters are stereotypes. This is not the average "all Americans are wise people and spiritual," and fall into the pit of others, showing all the Indians, or half as easy. It is a Thunderheart Western film despite being a very straight story. On the surface has been done before: an apparently simple crime becomes a cover for something much uglier of corruption in high places. However, the themes of exploitation, identity, poverty, and values make it a different type of film. My favorite character - apart from Val Kilmer, who has never played better than this - is the old healer. Delightful, dignified and able to change almost instantly between treating the ancient wisdom of the spiritual world and seeing the sun or teasing the young "Washington Redskin" in an almost childlike way. This DivX Movie Thunderheart really has a heart and that goes for very few of them.
Val Kilmer looking to run a brilliant performance is not only entertaining, to say the least, but moving. Kilmer tries to deal with its 1 / 4 of Sioux history and the forces of "civilization" as an FBI agent. The forces of civilization is the infamous greed and corruption, or "special interests", as some politicians prefer to use. The Sioux are accused of being irresponsible, but proud. They are right about the pride. What has been omitted from the forces of civilization is the honor of these people. Particularly interesting is the mysticism of the Sioux. Ray Levoi FBI agent (Kilmer) is gradually absorbed by the mysticism (such as the audience), and opens a greater understanding of the real conflict. While probably most Americans can not claim Indian heritage, surely, can land. And they belong to the land, as Americans, that heritage should be ours as well. This movie: Thunderheart inspires a feeling those thoughts and feelings, especially if we feel attachment to (and presumably love) this land, America. An interesting observation about the majority of owls: a character says Levoi, the FBI agent, "the owl is the messenger, which means someone will die." This is a common in Mexico as well, surely led by its Indian joint vision for a barn owl (Owl, in Spanish). This mysticism is very powerful in this film. I recommend it for the quality acting performances, and high spirituality.
This is an interesting movie, but it was a little overboard in its political correctness. Why Hollywood is more than skeptical of the Bible, but has no problem overall American Indian reverence for the "theology" with witches, spirits of trees, etc., as shown in this Thunderheart Western is not "fair and balanced" making the movie, but the trend for you. However, I liked the single most chilling scene of the badlands in this film. I've never seen a picture like this. In addition, there are good action scenes and the cast is interesting intriguing five types: Val Kilmer, Sam Shepard Graham Greene, Fred Ward and Fred Dalton Thompson -- My only complaint is that in this story the agenda seems to overshadow the story of suspense.
What about the low score for this film? Thunderheart is a great thriller about the Native American Indians. It is well acted, or at a pace and we have a great sense of tension and high stakes in the whole movie. Respectful of the rest of the Indians, but did not receive syrup or overly glorifying is very educational about the culture. I thought that, as well as a nice trip. And a great job by Val Kilmer. Who should see this film: - Action / thriller type - Types of drama with an interest in Native American Indians I will give "Thunderheart" a well-deserved 8 out of 10.
This is a DivX Movie Thunderheart that everyone must see. The representation of Native Americans and the difficulties facing life was true. They were like real people with flaws and good sides instead of the usual cliches stereo. The "conquest" of the Indians and the appropriation of their land by whites was conveniently ignored or falsely healthy as you can see a Thunderheart film in 1950. There was some good acting and shows that Val Kilmer is just a very macho type with some depth and honesty to the role. I was touched when he admitted having been ashamed of his heritage when he was a child. Ring true for many of us in the minority surrounded by a white majority. Graham Greene was a great spectacle pleasant, but normally the role of Fred Ward was developed under in my opinion. Sam Shepard was good too. Mysticism, political and cultural interaction, all come to play in an ultimately uplifting film. The final "trade" and the scene of awakening Kilmer character left me a good feeling.
I really wonder why this Thunderheart film is rather low valued at IMDb (6.5/10 now). This is a very good Thunderheart Western with a great but disturbing message, perhaps even more because it was based on real events. Tells the story of an Indian Reservation in South Dakota in the seventies. There seems to be some sort of war between traditionalists and progressives Indians. Traditionalists are accused of killing a member of a progressive group and two FBI agents will investigate. In its investigation continues, one of them is what are the real reasons why he is there ... This is a very good thriller with plenty of influences Indian mystic, but that does not close our eyes to the reality of these people lived in. It has been based on real events, but has changed slightly because of the demands, but still shows how the Indians were seen and treated in time. It's definitely a must watch the same Thunderheart Western and I am rewarded with an 8 / 10.
