| For such a piece of escapism (and for someone so cynical about the DivX film Hellboy as I am) not expecting much from this. But it has its moments. The dogs are quite nasty demon lame, but other elements (a robot villain, an enormous pendulum that destroys a way of escape, etc.) I am convinced, after a long time that imagination and creativity do occasionally turn in Hollywood. But I managed not to look even once in my work as the last long, loud, climatic battle (presumably intended to be very stimulating) took place. "Gee, I wonder if they will be involved explosions ...". After thirty years look like climax, this "very exciting" conclusion is exhausted. It's the same old, same old stupid fight / crescendo that I can not wait to get tired of Hollywood, like me. It has not been satisfactory in thirty years. Sienna Miller does zilch for me. She just kind of swollen face and sullen here. Ron Perlman is also good in the name of the rose. |
| Guillermo del Toro proved their sensitivity to the comic book style action with Blade 2. Therefore, it is perhaps not surprising that this DVD movie Hellboy is also full of it: feelings. Hellboy is the story of a demon who came to earth as a child. Rasputins evil was part of plan to destroy humanity, but the demon child was rescued and brought up a good time. Now, a lot of other heroes, the fight against evil hidden in modern society. Rasputin is back though, and has other plans for Hellboy ... There are a couple of factors that make this one of the most successful comic book adventure that I have seen so far in terms of style. First, the casting is perfect in everything. Ron Perlman as Hellboy is very entertaining, and the rest of the cast are equally of his duties. The special effects are excellent, among the best I've seen in reality. The action sequences are well done, without being too excessive. But above all is the feeling of what does and does not seem to me to this film. Guillermo Del Toro really seems like the genre and know exactly what they wanted from this movie. Of course, there are failures as ever. For example, the Hellboy Sci-Fi film becomes a bit silly at times, and a little more action I have not harmed. While I believe that most of the end, without saying much, is a sort of anticlimax. But this is all very entertaining in a way that the comic book action should be. I rate 7 / 10. |
| I never would have expected Hellboy for the silver screen. There is something about the story that never brought me into it. But Guillermo del Toro has been something that have not, because the transition from comic to the silver screen is exceptional. The Hellboy Sci-Fi is based on the very plot, a film: Hellboy scene to another in a pace faster than usual, but the real gift of Hellboy is the ingenuity and effort used in the creation of monsters. Kroener Sammael and are prepared very carefully and I found an absolute disgrace that there was more to work with the monsters in a limited time. Much of Hellboy feels underused. Liz is not used as much as I expected, and Abe Sapien is about half of the committee. Dr. Manning, luck was not fully settled in and skills used by both Hellboy, like reviving the dead are either just left out there, like who knew? But for a comic book film, with no expectation that Hellboy is a pleasant surprise, except for the fact that there should have been more monsters! It's Guillermo del Toro that we are talking about! |
