| This film: Johnny Handsome is not black as some have suggested. Is one of the first DVD movie Johnny Handsome of its kind undertaken and one of my favorites. All the main characters are despicable human beings and all the actors are excellent. A score of hard rock that makes driving at the time only fuels the movie. It is a bit slow in some parts, but the action scenes or theft of composing, great moment. Ellen Barkin and Lance Henrickson are perfect in their roles as foam and bags Roarke is big as Johnny Handsome deformed above that has a new face and then tries to get revenge on the people who killed his partner. It is clear that the plot is plausible, but so what, it's a movie. And a good many people who do not know. If you like drugs, sex and rock and roll, this Johnny Handsome film is for you. |
| "Johnny Handsome" is a fascinating but flawed by Walter Hill. Mickey Rourke is great as a back strain criminal to avenge the people (Lance Henriksen and Ellen Barkin), that he unfairly. The assumption is the premise that the enemies of Johnny not see what comes with your new face, a face reconstructed after an ugly fell to pieces. Unfortunately, this premise is potentially rich quick out and the movie: Johnny Handsome becomes a more standard crime yarn with a love story thrown in. futile Johnny's love interest, Elizabeth McGovern, who was very well in a similar role in "Racing With The Moon, "is wasted and not just belong to this material. Lance Henriksen and Ellen Barkin are large as two of the oiliest lowlifes impact a movie: Johnny Handsome screen in years. Barkin pronunciation of the word "geek", referring to the character Rourke, is hilarious, as is the crime of incessant badgering couple of each. If the Johnny Handsome Crime has focused more on the duo and at least another subplot involving McGovern and Forest Whitaker, who was saddled with a terribly written and a doctor who tries to help Johnny, what would have been a real contender. The opening robbery scene is classic Hill - brutal and economically - and set high expectations for the chaos to come. Ry Cooder slide guitar result is fascinating, and Mathew F. Leonetti 's cinematography is moody and seductive. Ultimately, the Johnny Handsome movie is a gritty pulp novel study compromised by concessions. That is a pity. |
| This is a engrosssing, pulse pounding thriller. Depth has not been found frequently in many Hollywood movies in their characters. Although it was in 1989, this is classic Film-Noir. Must dark, nervous, I feel it is worrying that found only in detective movies of the 30s and 40s. Reaches down into the dark recesses of the soul and shows to the public. How it plays is much more in the style of old films. Shows the powerful ends that come in the nature of good and evil. This Johnny Handsome Crime is not just a simple thrill-ride of a film, is powerful, gripping entertainment. |
| Mickey Rourke gives an astonishing performance as John Sedley a deformed thug who gets a chance for a normal life when a doctor (Forrest Whitaker) calls on the plastic surgery in Sedley. Sedley accepted and debate between straight or get revenge on the two (Lance Henriksen and Ellen Barkin), who killed his friend Mike (Scott Wilson) in this compelling drama even slightly longer. Actionscenes some very exciting and a good ear for dialogue that highlights Johnny Handsome revenge films of the genre. |
