| This is a Quicksand Crime film that can not go out alone. At no time have lost interest in him, and I've never been a fan of Mickey Rooney, so do not expect much, but wow, I was surprised. This is a great story, very logical in how it develops, Mickey and I can not fault at all. He was very, very credible and fascinating. I suppose that is the word, this Quicksand movie grabs you. For once, I cared what was going to happen to someone in a movie. About half way through the meaning of the title indicates in my mind. Quicksand, which is what was in all rights. And the more he struggled, the more it sank. It took an abrupt turn to exit spot of all this, but I can not complain, my interest was held on the last. |

| Black with a good crime story energy (what's new?) Mickey Rooney in the lead role. He also narrates the DVD film Quicksand and join all the loose ends. Santa Monica Pier persecution great scene at the end with a well-conditioned Rooney doing his stunts. Top of the camera work in B & W, with all the lights and shadows of great noir. Peter Lorre was his terrible evil, slimy free in a small role, and Jimmy Cagney was the sister Jeanne stiffly effective egocentric Rooney's girlfriend. Not a second is wasted in the action, and moves at breakneck speed along this 40-50 Rooney plays as typical of black morality tale of how the criminals are usually the first minor offenses until the worst crimes and eventually end up in jail, but always have good girls waiting for when you leave. Interestingly, almost all were witness to their crimes, the police and it had almost finished before they commit them. It is not the case in the real world as "no one sees anything" and today the majority of crimes go. Do not you wish you all the crimes are solved so easily as in this film? It would be a very different world than we have. |
