| I was living in London in 1950 and will remember the mill on two occasions, the name of Vivian Van Damm is very familiar to me, but I thought he / she is a lady. Living magazines, setting the stage and theater are very true to life. I can not imagine a better combination of Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins; absolutely brilliant casting. The production brings the authenticity of the Thirties England.The in the graveyard scene in the parking lot where all Bentley Austins, Rolls, Morris, Allards were intact and functioning, fashion, hairstyles and all the street scenes of perfect . Ms. Henderson's unreal world of wealth is a dose of reality that portrays Judi perfection. Bob Hoskins She handles the rough and tumble drama with humor and understanding. The girls, except for the "yet" that not all the hits start but squandered personality, as I remember. Excellent, a must. |
| Judi Dench as MRS. Henderson is a joy to see from the first scene in the graveyard scene in the last one roof in London. A moving story of a wealthy English woman who strikes gold with an investment in a theater in London during World War II and became an excellent investment for public shelter as bombs fall around the theater. Bob Hoskins a performance becomes as bright as Ms. Dench and two of them on screen together is a pleasure to see two professional actors polished and the display light. The chemistry between them is great, and their scenes together are full of great writing and biting humor. A theater joy "just in time for awards season. MRS. HENDERSON PRESENTS us back to the time of the Second World War and visually shows the strength of character that the English people had to fight the Germans and the enormous sacrifices made by Britain to win the war. The supporting cast of beautiful women, and the wonderful role of Christopher Guest, the DVD film Mrs Henderson Presents makes this a Mrs Henderson Presents Drama to remember and appreciate during the holiday season. | This DivX Movie Mrs Henderson Presents is very funny. Judi Dench is a great way to see how a brash, rich, sometimes naive woman who buys a theater as a hobby after the death of her husband. Add the fire and life to each scene in which she has an excellent relationship with Bob Hoskins the screen. The nudity is handled very well. The audience was completely silent when it first appeared to girls in all their God-given glory. I believe that nobody wanted to be heard to react in any way. But after a while became the nudity in the Mrs Henderson Presents Drama as secondary to the story as did the audience. There are characters and their relationships that you care about the Second World War, and then starts all of the madness of Hitler. They become the real focal points. If you go to the theater knowing what is in favor, you have a wonderful time. Is done well and has a good story with great actors. There are some lines that are very, very funny. Audience members of all ages were clapping when it was finished and you, too. |
| Judi Dench is excellent in the title role of this British comedy, perfectly suited to his aging but still Feisty character, Bob Hoskins, and now has some very solid in their support. With great costumes and sets, the Mrs Henderson Presents Drama film is able to provide an idea of both the Depression era and the spirit of vaudeville at its peak of popularity. It is a delight to see, well done in almost all levels - even the stage of the numbers are fun to watch. It is also very funny, sometimes too much, and play at other times. Unfortunately, one never gets to know the characters very well, other than those developed by Hoskins and Dench. This participation is limited to see ... but it's fun ... both ways and the Mrs Henderson Presents Drama avoids being too literal when it explores the nature of Dench. |
| I saw this Mrs Henderson Presents Drama last night at a screening in Sedona, AZ. I enjoyed every aspect of the show. The casting is perfect. The sets were wonderful. He was excellent. Judith chemistry between Dench and Bob Hoskins was palpable and fun to watch. Kelly Reilly, Will Young, Christopher Guest, Thelma Barlow and the rest of the cast brought to life a very moving story of a slice of life in World War II London and the spirit of the people of the West End theater district. All stories, dancing, singing and script was written and brilliantly choreographed in collaboration with director Stephen Frears and writer Martin Sherman to produce a highly entertaining DVD film Mrs Henderson Presents that is worth a few hours of their time and worthy of all praise that I am sure we will receive. You must see the film. |
