| "Waiting for Guffman" was a bit of genius. "Best in Show" and "Mighty Wind" elaborated on the concept focuses on a sub-culture of people who take their little world entirely seriously. Unfortunately, "For Your Consideration" lacks the subtle satire of the recent efforts of the host. The beauty of the previous movies was the bubble world of the cast. The assumption of the viewer, that is, outside of this microcosm, there is the "real world". This illusion is broken in the "Review", with all its wide sending "Entertainment Tonight," "Wake Up LA" and similar shows. It would have been funny if the Oscar buzz was building within the set of "Purim," and then later, there was the realization in all the Oscar buzz. The mood was not as strong as previous efforts. For example, the handful of people who were unfamiliar with the network ... ring that is not true. Worst of all, there is a cruelty to the characters in "For Your Consideration" that does not sit well with me. Overall, a disappointment. |
| Christopher Guest does an excellent job in this film, a comedy about the operation of the center of film: For Your Consideration production and the madness that is the result of the awards show's most fashionable performances. The entire cast is hilarious, but Catherine O'Hara definitely gives the performance of his career, and I am very disappointed that she was overlooked for an Oscar nomination. She is bright, and you'll see what I mean when you see this movie. Other actions are still pending from the Parker Posey, Jane Lynch, and the always hilarious Jennifer Coolidge. And Sandra Oh look great but all in a very quick cameo spot. |
| After scoring a number of successes in his mockumentary, Christopher Guest strays somewhat from his trust formula to relate the story of a group of disillusioned mediocre dreaming things better, and to exercise their trade. The problem with this is an asset that is probably a little too close to home for comfort. Although the film: For Your Consideration makes fun of these people, but also mocks their aspirations, as if you're laughing at them down and want to join us in leaving a bitter aftertaste that is not particularly pleasant. | I am one of Christopher Guest biggest fans after LOVED Spinal Tap, a powerful wind, Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman ... but the things that made each of these films so wonderful - unique personalities to share their lives with the camera - appears to be absent here. The cast of House of Purim, the For Your Consideration Comedy film at the cinema, is not very good. They are not supposed to be. The story is melodramatic and actors perceive themselves to be better than to believe what they are. Unfortunately for us, the characters are fun to watch. Is something like Lisa Kudrow short show returns. That several people with more fashionable excess of expectations and that it is an unfortunate train wreck. That said, the actors are fantastic FYC. Each character brings his home. The story is a story, possibly, it's worth telling, but also much of the "Oh." garbo the British version of the Office and not enough of a-laugh-aloud moments. I can not wait to see Mr. Guest films of the future (not to mention some of the back catalog search!), And each of the major cast: Catherine O'Hara, Parker Posey, Eugene Levy, Harry Shearer, and everyone else. I just want this DivX film For Your Consideration made me laugh more. |
| I love this company operates. It is a well-tuned machine. Although this DivX film For Your Consideration is perhaps a little "inside" the Hollywood For Your Consideration Comedy film industry, advertising and the machine that handles all the regulars and new faces invited to cover the wonderful performances and play their parts with the amount of camp with their tongues in their cheeks. I mean, after all. not many of us want to know about the inside of the industry? The duo of entertainment journalists (Jane Lynch and Fred Willard) are hilarious and Catherine O'Hara's performance is masterly. (Do I hear Oscar Buzzzz?) But that does not mean any of the performances of the actors were not noteworthy. My whole family had a great time. This is not a great panoramic epic, this is good clean hilarity of some of our favorite celebrities. If you're a fan of "Best in Show", pending Guffman etc, or simply want to know these talented actors, DO go see this film: For Your Consideration nap before going to be happy and rested and heard inside the jokes that spark laughter heard throughout the theater.
