| "Frida" is a beautifully done biopic about Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and the icon. Salma Hayek plays this role very well. She explains all the passion is going to be an artist, especially when playing away from Alfred Molina, who plays Diego Rivera, husband of Frida Kahlo, and a famous Mexican artist in her own right. What really impressed me was the reference art of the film. I loved seeing the pictures that come to life! I also liked the surreal animated sequences, including the hospital nightmare, populated by Day of the Dead-style skeletons. Few films have ever made me regard as a masterpiece. "Frida" is definitely one of them! |
| I saw this movie: Frida for the first time last night and is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. There are shades of "Surviving Picasso" on it. However, this movie: Frida transcends the Frida film Picasso on a number of levels. Where "Surviving Picasso" is all about execution masterful Anthony Hopkins, "Frida" is a chemistry between the actors that not only enough to see in modern cinema. Yes, Salma Hayek Frida inhabits the character and makes it entirely his own. Alfred Molina, but the image of their overweight, philandering husband really brings this Frida film to life. The story is also important for this film. | Visually stunning - if this Frida Drama does not win in the cinematography of Academy Awards, I will be surprised. This film, based on the biography of Frida Kahlo Hayden Herrera, is a masterpiece. I read the book several years ago and have been a fan since Frida. I heard an interview W / Hayden on NPR not long ago talking about her book and the Frida Drama adaptation. Made years and years of research on Frida and is probably the closest thing to an "expert" in his life, as we found in 2003. Julie Taymor commended for this Frida movie and was quite happy with its adaptation. Reading the reviews on this page, I find hard to believe that there are critics of this movie. Everything from music (beautiful!) In the Frida Drama movie the action. . . Greatness! Selma really put their heart and soul into this role and has made its way into my list of favorite actresses. It would be hard for anyone in the life of the large screen and full details on the right - esp. someone who lived 50 years ago. I think Julie Taymor has done an amazing job of representing the life of Frida. |
