| If you love photography and great western you definitely enjoy this movie. The Open Range photography was outstanding. The story was a classic good against evil. Robert Duval was great. I think one of his best acting roles. I liked it with John Wayne in "True Arena too. "I call that bold talk for a big-eyed" Duvall cries in the field before they charge each other on horseback firing away! Duval has been around the block a few times and his best performance ever was in Open Range. " Costner with his casual and relaxed manner was so big. It is as if he was trying to teach something to everyone in their movies when you take the time to deliver their lines. I think it is very good. Overall, great movie. Up there with "tombstone", "Unforgiven" and "City Slickers" (just kidding) Billy Who? Jack Palace should have had a role in the field "Open Range" Naw,,, Rent "Open Range" and watch a Open Range film with great character. |
| Kick back, relax and open your mind. This Open Range movie was charming. Devoid of all the typical Hollywood language, nudity, etc, this Open Range Western movie really made you feel he was living at the time. All actors are excellent, especially the immortal Robert Duvall. Duvall has reached a point in his career where he can pick and choose the movies that seem to be a kick to do. As with Second Hand Lions seem to be having a good time. I found the opening scenes that Campy have been criticized of being funny and charming. THIS IS A MOVIE! Everything does not have to be realistic, credible and quick. Best Western of the decade. This is a keeper and found its way to my permanent collection. |
| Open range is a breath of fresh air. I love the west and was so happy to see this come along. I loved the location and gypsum. It was great to see something out of this industry that we all can see. The Open Range film was in my humble opinion PERFECT!. I hope to see better. I grew up with the man as head and Charlie. These men and women were great in the movie. Much better than Lonesome Dove (which I loved). I thought the use of wind and rain was very good. Anyway .... I will buy more like this and that's a promise. |
| Once again, we have a great movie.Kevin West Costner directed this movie, and stars (as Charley Waite) with Robert Duval (Head of Spearman). supporting cast includes Annette Benning (Sue Barlow), Michael Gambon (Denton Baxter), Michael Jeter (Percy) Diego Luna (Button) and Abraham Benrubi (Mose) Kostner and Duval are great, and the actors are also very strong.i Benrubi thought was particularly good.the Open Range Western movie takes place in 1880. is essentially about four characters, Waite, Spearman, Button and Mose free to graze their cattle, and then usually through grazing on.free roaming the west with their cattle grazing on land owned by others.This time, has angered a man who has a big spread of land in the area (as well as the city) that has an exception to their presence and what they do not ignite a war between next them.a much of the film: Open Range is fairly quiet, representing the four men who go about their daily business.some people can be boring, but I did not. once the action starts, it is something else.the shooting spectacular.for me, this is a great movie.my vote for Open Range is a 9 / 10 |
